"half past"- 30 minutes after- "Half past 9"= 9:30
"Tube"- the underground subway in London ( shaped like a tube)
"Mind the gap"- Watch your step as you get on the Tub or a train. The gap between the train and the station.
"Dodgey"- Dicey, shady,unpredictable.
"Cheers"- Good bye or thank you
"Queue"- A line
"Loo"-Bathroom
There is a queue for the loo. Line for the bathroom.
"bangers and mash"- Sausage and mashed potatoes
"biscuit"-Cookies
"Blow off"- Fart
"Bobby"-Policeman
"Bonnet"-Car hood
"Boot"-car trunk
"Bubble and squeak"- Cabbage and potatoes fried together
"car-boot sale"-Flea market
"chips"-French fries
"coach"-Bus
"Cotton buds"-Q-tips
"Crisps"-Potato chips
"Elevenses"- Coffee-and-biscuits before lunch break
"Fell"-Hill
"Fortnight"-Two weeks
"Geezer"-Dude
"Holiday"-Vacation
"Ice Lolly"-Popsicle
